First H1N1 case in office

Posted by Cassey | Information | Wednesday 19 August 2009 4:10 am

Today HR sent out an email and the email is as below.

Dear all,

Kindly take note that one of our colleagues, Harsh, has been identified and tested yesterday evening to having a strain of influenza that is a mild form of H1N1. The doctor has confirmed that the strain he has is not airborne, but may spread via fluids etc. He is being quarantined at home starting today.

The company has put the following precautionary measures in place:
• Arrangement for special disinfection cleaning for all Nielsen main office floors
• Continue to arrange for cleaners to use disinfectants’ during daily cleaning
• Continue to provide hand sanitizers at all office common areas, i.e. reception area, pantry and all meeting rooms
• Purchase of masks will be made. Once stocks are in, we will notify and you can collect from Admin.

All employees are requested to please note the following:
• Anyone who develops flu-like symptoms (e.g. fever, cough, sore-throat, runny nose) should seek immediate medical attention and notify your Manager of your medical condition. Should there be any confirmed cases, please notify your Manager and HR immediately.
• Anyone who had been in close proximity with Harsh, please monitor your health closely for any symptoms. Should there be any, please seek immediate medical attention and get yourself tested for A(H1N1). Kindly notify your Manager and HR of your medical condition.
• Continue to practice good personal hygiene at all times.
• Those who have low immunity or in high-risk groups are advised to exercise greater preventive care. If self quarantine is required, please have a quick discussion with your Manager for work from home arrangement to minimize business disruption.

He is from 18th floor and is under client service team. After read this email, my colleague from 15th floor called me and tell me his floor is distributing mask to everyone. I am thinking, your job is QC, need to call to respondent, then how to talk if you are wearing mask?

Malaysia is out of control on this virus. Every day you can read new cases of H1N1 and the death number are increasing every day, share market drops but this increase.

My friend told me, his wife friend relative suspect infected H1N1 and went to Hospital in Sungai Buloh, quarantine there. After few days, he was “release” but few days later he passed away. So is the virus too powerful or during his stay in hospital is to quarantine from public and no medicine to cure it?

Anyway, be more caution and take care.

Lucky Ball

Posted by Cassey | Information | Sunday 9 August 2009 3:59 am

I bet all of us know what snooker is, but do you know what is lucky ball?

Lucky ball is another type of snooker game that played in snooker table and the balls are filled by numbers from 1 to 15. The color is same as the ball for billiard but the size is smaller compare to billiard, it is same size as normal snooker ball.

This is mainly for gambling, but do you know how it plays?

Let’s assume they are 4 players, each of the players will get 6/7(depends) cards (normal playing card). J is 11, Q is 12 and K is 13. What about 14 and 15? Yup, these are the lucky ball. If you entered one of the lucky ball and the other 3 players will pay you money, and the ball will be placed back on the snooker table, only number 14 and 15 can be placed back to the table. There is a rule that you must have license before hitting the lucky ball. What is license? License is you have to enter one of the number ball that you have (the 6/7 cards) by your own self. After entered have to open to proof it. License can be gone if you foul. Once foul then can’t hit the lucky ball, have to get the license back. The person who entered all the number balls that he/she had considered winner.

Sounds simple and easy?

I wonder why Bust, Cup, Waist and Hip are needed for it? Are they looking a normal sales promoter or ‘entertaining girl’?
