Pub

It has been few years I didn’t go to pub. Yesterday I went there to meet my primary schoolmate. Last time he stayed on the same road with me, now he has moved to Puchong. The reason I met him is to ask him to invest using EPF. Basically he agreed to invest but he didn’t Photostat his IC so we have to meet up next time, but not in pub anymore. Know why?

Not only meeting him, but also his colleagues and friends. I can’t remember the name of the pub, but there are 2 other pubs on the same road. The beer girl is from different countries like China, Vietnam and of course local. My friend is their regular customer so they treat him very good.

What is their intention to drink in pub? Do you think is only pure drinking? 90% of guy will drink with the beer lady and their hand is moving around their body. I observed it from my friend colleague and actually we are from the same secondary school as well.

I seldom drink but yesterday I drink a lot. I reached there at 10pm and drink until 12am, break a while to have some snacks, then continue back to the pub and drink for another 2 hours. My friend know I am not a good drinker, so asked me whether can drive home. Of course can after the break. But today my head is very pain, so this is the bad effect after having fun on yesterday night.

Do you know currently what the hottest topic of aunty here is? Almost 9 of 10 are talking about this TVB drama series call Rosy Business. Even my mother in law also talks about this drama. Like yesterday I went to DVD shop to buy a animation DVD for my daughter, I start choosing the DVD, then they is an aunty come to the counter and talked to the boss. They talked about this drama. I heard it and I also joined their conversation. I told them what will happen on tonight episode. How I know? I read the daily story from TVB.com, I can’t wait until tonight. This drama makes me every night sit in front of the TV at 21:30 wait for the first appearance in channel 921 AOD.

So far this drama has the highest rating of 35 and an average rating around 30-33 (I can’t remember it). this figure I got it from Scoop’09.

Who is the male and female starring? Male starring is Lai Yiu Cheung who just got the best supporting role in 2009 TVB Award Ceremony. Female starring is Tang Shui Man, Sherren who also is one of the best actresses in TVB.

This is one of the best drama after Heart of Greed 2. We wish TVB can produce many of this kind of good quality drama in future. TVB slogan ‘Full strength to do for the best’.

So dirty!

Last night I watched a food program, the program is a Hong Kong production program. The program is introducing foods to TV audience. The host asks the chief to cook his favorite food and I noticed the chief did not wear any plastic glove. He did not wear any glove to take the vegetable and cod fish. You know what, the chief use his hand to hold the frying pan, hold the knife, hold the towel and decorate the meal using his hand. How can he do that in front of the camera, don’t he know that what is the important thing in the kitchen? The answer is ‘CLEAN’, right?

If you have watched the TV program, do you think you will eat in the restaurant? I bet no right?

Wan Tan Mee

Wan Tan Mee, I believe most Chinese should know what that is. Last week I watched a Hong Kong food TV program and they talked about Wan Tan Mee. Wan Tan Mee is so called blue collar or low income person food. Because is cheap and most of the customer are lower income person or blue collar person.

In Hong Kong they had few sizes, Malaysia here also have few sizes, small size, medium size and large size. Small size in Malaysia mean 1 bundle of mee, medium size mean 1.5 bundle of mee and large size will be 2 bundle of mee. So the MC asked one of the customers there, she asked, “How many small size plate Wan Tan Mee you can eat?”. He answered “About 4 plate”. The MC got shocked and double confirm with him “You mean you can have 4 plate of Wan Tan Mee even you are not that hungry?”. He said “Yah”. You guess how much it cost for a small size Wan Tan Mee sell in Hong Kong? Is about HKD30-HKD40 (for that shop), so if for you, you prefer spending HKD150-HKD160 for western foods like steak or 4 plates of Wan Tan Mee? Of course prefer western food, right?

If the price keeps increasing, how are we going to afford for a small size of Wan Tan Mee in future?

Wan Tan Mee near my office and Wan Tan Mee near my house are selling at different price.

  Near My House Near Office
Small RM 3.20 RM 4.50
Medium RM 3.50 RM 5.00
Large RM 3.80 RM 5.50

Can you see the different? It Is cheaper in residential area rather than office area. My friend even comment on it, he said “The Wan Tan Mee price increase but the size reduced! Having large size Wan Tan Mee is like having medium size of Wan Tan Mee”. I believe this is too much, right? But I can tell you that the stall is very famous in my office area. Every day also manage to sell all the noodles. It is one of the famous stall near my office.

I have been long time didn’t buy from him, not affordable, too expensive. For you, will you go for it even the price is much expensive than other stall?
